Scheurebe - Grape Variety
Scheurebe was thought to be a crossing between Riesling and Silvaner, but this has been disproved by DNA analysis. This Riesling x AN Other unknown variety produces vibrant wines of excellent acidity that can age very well. It is declining in popularity. It was originally produced specifically for the sandy terroir of the Rheinhessen.
