This domaine has its origins in the early 18th century, but was most recently run (until his death in 2017) by the charming Luc Camus. Luc's own father died when Luc was only 12 in 1961 and Luc took the reins of the domaine in 1972. This is a winery that, in a more celebrated commune, would rightly be very famous. It is just that their home commune of Savigny is so overlooked: shame, as it is to where the cognoscenti go for a proper bargain. Camus-Bruchon is now run by Guillaume, Luc's son, who works c. 8 hectares of vines in Savigny, Beaune, Chorey and Pommard. The Savignys, from exceptionally old vines, are some of the finest wines of the appellation.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes

"A perfumed and admirably pure nose offers up a dazzling array of aromas that include dark currant, plum, lilac and discreet spice nuances. There is both good richness and fine volume to the well-detailed and delicious medium weight flavors that possess a suave mouth feel thanks to the abundant dry extract before terminating in a firm but not really austere finish that delivers excellent length on the balanced and palate coating finish. Good stuff that is worth a look provided that you have the patience to cellar it for at least 5 to 6 years first." Burghound

Sweetness Explained
Sweetness Explained

Sweetness

All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.

Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
