Lafon Rochet was created in the mid-17th century when presented as a dowry to Pierre de Lafon, having previously been known as Rochette. The property stayed in the same ownership for two centuries before being sold to Guy Tesseron in 1959. Tesseron commenced an intense program of renovation, as the entire estate had fallen into ruin. The chateau itself, famously painted a bright mustard yellow, is the only classed growth Médoc property to have been built in the 20th century.

"The 2006 Lafon Rochet has an intense bouquet the raspberry, wild strawberry and rose petal aromas, very focused and refined with good definition. The palate is medium-bodied with balsamic-tinged entry. There's fine depth with tarry black fruit. It's stocky towards the finish. Give this another year in bottle." Neal Martin in 2021
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
