A family-owned estate now working 35 hectares of vines. The style here is modern, with a number of cuvées being generously oaked. Remizières was once known for its white wines, but now more for the reds. Owner Philippe Desmeures has now been joined by his daughter Emilie and son Christophe.

Superb depth of colour in the glass. The nose is not, for the time being, that pronounced. I found aromas of those soft, spicy biscuits the Germans eat at Christmas, along with notes of ink and very black fruit: black cherries, some of them those lip smacking sour ones. Really concentrated palate, really very pure, of black cherry, slightly floral fruit. Beneath lurk big, tacky, grippy and powerful tannins. Very long, with great energetic drive here. This is one lovely and intense wine.
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
