Domaine de Chevalier is not easy to find, hidden in woodland as it is. The Ricard family, who owned the property from 1865 to 1983 introduced drainage in the '60s tom improve the moisture-retaining soils. The Bernard family bought Domaine de Chevalier in '83 and started buying neighbouring plots until the vineyard area was almost doubled in size. Trees around parts of the vineyard have been cleared, since they increased the risk of frost. And new wine-making facilities were added in order to cope with the additional volume of production. The red and white wines from this estate are among the finest of their commune.

"This price does seem ridiculous for a landmark property. Not concentrated ruby. Light admittedly but very delicate and refreshing and could only be made in Bordeaux, Utterly swallowable. So lively – though be warned, it is light and flirtatious but very appetising. " Jancis Robinson
All our wines are given a Sweetness Indicator from 1 to 5, with 1 being the driest and 5 being the sweetest.
This can be found for every wine under the Wine Details tab.
Most red wines are dry and therefore are indicated with a 1. The sweetness becomes more relevant with white wines, sparkling wines and pudding/dessert wines such as Sauternes and Tokaji.
